Visit to Collect

Last Sunday I took a visit to Crafts Council’s Collect, International Art Fair for Contemporary Objects @ The Saatchi Gallery. It was a rainy grey day but was soon brightened up by seeing friend Rosanna Martin (soon to be MA graduate from RCA).

It was lovely to catch up, view some stunning objects & pieces of jewellery from the galleries such as CAA, Ruthin Craft Centre, Galerie Rosemarie Jager, Gallery So, Galerie RA and Galerie Marzee.

A few of my favorite jewellery pieces were from Vera Siemund and Iris Bodemer.

I also spent a rather long time admiring David Clarke’s ‘handmade/ready-made mashups.’

In the project space I was impressed by John Rainey’s ceramic installation slightly disturbing yet simultaneously intriguing.

I was surprised to learn the material was in fact ceramic when on first inspection I thought it was plastic!

  1. I came to your “Visit to Collect | Kathryn Partington” page and noticed you could have a lot more traffic. I have found that the key to running a website is making sure the visitors you are getting are interested in your subject matter. There is a company that you can get traffic from and they let you try it for free. I managed to get over 300 targetted visitors to day to my website. Check it out here:
